- Soda Ash
Soda Ash, also known as Sodium Carbonate (Na₂CO₃), is a widely used pool water balancing chemical that plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal water chemistry. Primarily used to raise the pH and total alkalinity levels in swimming pools, soda ash helps prevent water from becoming too acidic, which can lead to corrosion of pool surfaces, equipment damage, and skin or eye irritation for swimmers.
Available in a fine, white, odorless powder, soda ash dissolves quickly in water and is easy to apply—either by pre-dissolving in a bucket of water or broadcasting directly into the pool with circulation running.
Regular use of soda ash ensures that the pH level stays within the recommended range (7.2 to 7.6), improving the effectiveness of chlorine and other sanitizers.
In addition to its use in swimming pools, soda ash is also employed in water treatment, glass manufacturing, textiles, and detergents due to its strong alkalinity and chemical properties.
Safe, effective, and economical, soda ash is an essential part of any pool maintenance routine. By stabilizing water chemistry, it helps protect swimmers, extend equipment life, and ensure a clean, sparkling, and balanced pool environment.
